Since our ballet school’s establishment in 1989 at Crown Centre along Bukit Timah Road, we have built a good reputation and an excellent track record. We are proud of our comprehensive curriculum that includes a unique Beginner Ballet programme for children aged 4 to 6+, the RAD Ballet Grades, RAD Higher Grades, RAD Discovering Repertoire, & RAD Vocational Grades syllabus classes, high-calibre coaching towards RAD Ballet Exams, and mentored teaching-practice for trainee-teachers.
Beginner & Pre-Primary Ballet Classes for Children
Our unique Beginner Ballet programme for younger children was devised by our Principal, Ms. Tan, to cater to the needs & interests of kids in nursery & kindergarten who love to dance. Development of self-confidence, postural awareness, gross and fine motor skills, response to music, creative expression, and introduction of basic ballet steps are key features of our pre-school ballet & dance curriculum. We provide an enjoyable and semi-structured learning environment, where boys & girls shall grow & thrive. Our Beginner Ballet lessons are 45 minutes in duration, and are conducted once-a-week. This early learning programme provides a secure foundation in the basics of dance & movement aesthetics, at an impressionable age, so that the students may confidently progress to the RAD Grades Ballet syllabus at Pre-Primary in Dance (PPID) level, at the completion of Beginner Ballet Year 2.

RAD Vocational & Discovering Repertoire Ballet Classes
Students of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Vocational Grades & Discovering Repertoire ballet examination syllabus classes are pre-professional dancers with substantial prior training in classical ballet. A high-level of instruction & commitment are required for success at these RAD levels, and this may pave the way towards careers in dance & the performing arts.
We offer RAD Vocational ballet lessons of Intermediate Foundation to RAD Advanced 2. We also offer the new RAD Discovering Repertoire ballet syllabus as well, as an alternative pathway for ballet learning & achievement. Private Lessons are available for students who wish to tailor learning to their individual goals & timelines, to support training towards an examination, audition or competition.
For female dancers, the Vocational & Repertoire syllabi place emphasis on elegant virtuosity & pointe work, while pirouettes and allegro (turns and jumps) are a distinctive focal point of training for male dancers. Contact Us with details of your prior ballet learning, and to arrange for a trial lesson prior to enrollment.
Our Principal Ms. Tan initiated & organised for a group of our Vocational-level ballet students to attend events of the RAD Genee International Dance Competition in Sydney Australia, in December 2016. The students’ learning experience included a mini summer intensive at the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy, inclusive of Ballet, Progressing Ballet Technique, Contemporary Dance and Russian Character Dance.

Professional Projects
In September 2004, our Vice-Principal, Miss Teo, was joined by three of our senior female dancers and four guest male artistes to perform in the operatta, “The Merry Widow” at the University Cultural Centre. This professional production by the Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) was graced by the presence of the late His Excellency, President S R Nathan, as the Guest of Honor. The SLO is Singapore’s only professional western opera company. Miss Teo had also worked as Choreographer and Principal Dancer in the SLO productions of Bizet’s “Carmen” in 1998 and 2002.
Miss Teo has some behind-the-scenes experience on a movie production. She was invited to coach Fann Wong (MediaCorp international artiste) on 01 September 2007, on set of the movie, “Dance of the Dragon”, for the star’s ballet scene. In 2007, Miss Teo also coached the Top 3 finalists, Melvin and Sharon, towards the MediaCorp Channel 5 Reality TV dance competition, “The Dance Floor.” In 2013, Miss Teo was invited to Malaysia to adjudicate at the inaugural JBBA Star Ballet Competition.
